Parminder Singh, 29, has allegedly killed his wife Nikita Chawla, for suspected infidelity. Singh had checked Nikita's cell phone, which he believed confirmed his suspicions and after killing her in his home in Melbourne he called police and admitted to repeatedly stabbing his wife with a knife. Singh has been arrested and charged with one count of murder. He has been remanded to custody to appear in court on May 1. Singh made no application for bail and sat with his head bowed in the dock. His lawyer informed the court that Singh had seen a psychiatrist in the past for anxiety issues. The court noted it was his first time in custody and arranged for a mental health assessment. The investigation is ongoing and evidence is being analysed.
