NRI woman arrested for posing as cancer patient to raise funds

CRIMmNagraniManisha Nagrani, 40, has been arrested in San Francisco, California, on charges of fraud, as she pretended to be a blood cancer patient, in order to raise funds through online fundraising sites such as Giving Forward.

Hubculture.com – a global platform to expand collective consciousness also pitched in for her by unwittingly linking her fake appeal to the site Giving Forward. Nagrani who worked as a marketing consultant has also worked with a number of PR and technology related fronts over the years.

In 2014, Nagrani wrote on Facebook her fake but heart-rending story of her body failing its fight against Myelodysplastic syndromes, and added she will be unable to see her God children on their birthdays as she was on the soon-to-be-deceased list.

It is not yet known how much money she siphoned off the fundraising sites.
