NRIs buy ‘e-bricks’ to build new Andhra Pradesh capital

INITIAacAmravatiTelegu NRIs in the North America Bay Area bought 300,000 e-bricks on a single day, to contribute to the construction of Andhra Pradesh’s new capital Amravati.

The e-bricks were introduced to promote participation of people in the development of the new capital in Vijayawada region. The e-bricks are priced at Rs.10 each, US NRIs bought the e-bricks after an appeal was made by IT minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy who is on a visit to the US.

Reddy who participated in the Oracle Open World IT summit in San Francisco had appealed to IT companies and NRIs to invest in Andhra Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for Amravati on October 22.
