A group of NRIs have decided to adopt Chandupatla village, that gained fame after locals and historians identified an inscription on the death of a Kakatiya ruler Rudramadevi a few years ago. One NRI Sathish Medvarapu said they have decided to restore several historical structures in the temple, including the inscription. They have also decided to restore the Vinayaka idol, where Rudramadevi is believed to have performed puja before a war. Mr Satish also said they will develop the Ramalayam, Narasimha Swamy, Hanuman and Siva Temples in the village. Another NRI from the village, Paduri Amarendar Reddy said they have also planned to construct toilets in the village and implement a mass plantation programme to improve the greenery. They are also working with the villagers to bring about all-round development.
