NRIs in Donald Trump’s advisory committee

trumpWith just over a month to go before the US general elections, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has appointed Indian-Americans into his Asian Pacific American Advisory Committee.

The committee consists of over 30 members including Puneet Ahluwalia from Virginia, K V Kumar from California and Shalabh Kumar from Illinois.

The founder of the Republican Hindu Coalition, Shalabh Kumar said “We are on the cusp of history. I am witnessing this election and am confident Trump would be the next president of the US”.

Puneet Ahluwalia a member of Virginia’s Asian-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Advisory Council said he is honoured to be a part of the Trump AAPI Advisory Committee.

The Trump Campaign said the committee is elected and grassroots leaders are appointed who will engage Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders on relevant issues.

Governors Eddie Calvo and Ralph Torres of Guam and Northern Mariana Islands will serve as the Council’s Co-Chairs. K V Kumar has worked with the World Bank.
