A report titled the National Health Profile 2015 released by the health minister in Delhi, found that over a quarter of the 559,718 diabetics in India, the state of Gujarat has the highest number at 161,578. It was followed by Rajasthan, Punjab, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. Admittedly data from several other states was not available.
Gujarat also has the highest rate of cases of hypertension with 159,150 cases or 22% reported as of March this year.
India has also shown an increase in cases of Acute Respiratory Infection.
