PBD : NRI doctors to support PM's vision of 'healthy India'

To support PM Narendra Modi's vision of a healthy India, the American Association of Physicians of Indian origin (AAPI) launched an initiative by which they will collaborate with Indian health care agencies to improve the health infrastructure in India, as well as raise awareness on head injuries, trauma and hepatitis. Speaking after the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was inaugurated, Sema Jain president elect of AAPI said their contribution is also in response to the call of PM Modi for the Indian Diaspora to participate in the development of India. Survey data says India has the highest death rate in the world due to auto accidents, estimated at some 350,000 deaths annually, including due to a lack of emergency medical services around the country. The AAPI also announced that its next Global Health Summit to be held in January 2016 in Delhi, will focus on brain injuries, and women-related issues.
