Police officer announces cash reward for arrest of ex-Minister !

Senior IPS officer Amitabh Thakur has announced a personally funded cash reward of Rs.20,000 to the police team that arrests former Uttar Pradesh minister Haji Yakub Qureshi, and he also sent a letter to the UP Director General of Police, Anand Lal Banerjee, asking him to add Section 153A of the IPC in the case registered against the former BSP leader. Cleric Qureshi had himself recently announced a cash reward of Rs.51 crore to anyone who claims responsibility for Wednesday's attack on the French weekly Charlie Hebdo in Paris that claimed 12 lives. He had also in 2006, offered a similar amount to anyone who beheads the Danish cartoonist who made a controversial cartoon of Prophet Mohammad that was published in a Denmark paper and reprinted in the French publication. A case was immediately registered in Kotwali police station and ever since, Qureshi has gone underground for fear he will be arrested.
