Punjab minister 'involved' in drug money laundering case

The Enforcement Directorate summoned Punjab Minister Bikram Singh Majithia for questioning in connection with a multi million rupee international synthetic drugs racket busted last year. The Department has been probing the drug racket that was discovered with the arrest of NRI Anoop Singh Kahlon, in 2013, and Majithia's name came under the scanner after statements were recorded of others accused in the case. Directorate investigators also sought Majithia's financial statements and transactions for the last few years which are expected to be submitted by the minister. Majithia has assured the authorities he will cooperate fully with the central investigating agency.
