Yashveer Singh, 29, from Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan has been recognised by Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list, in the Social Entrepreneurs Category this year. He is among 8 young social entrepreneurs who made it to the list from India.
Yashveer has been recognised for his commitment and contribution to promote and further youth social change-making in the South Asian region. He is currently director of Youth Venture Programme (South Asia) at Ashoka Innovators for the Public, that is the world’s largest network of social entrepreneurs and innovators.
Yashveer who went to school at Birla Senior Secondary School in Pilani, earned his degree from the Said Business School. During his time at Oxford he led the Social Impact Oxford Business Network, and he was the only MBA student to receive the Vice Chancellor Social Impact Award from his graduating class.
Yashveer says he was always concerned with the condition of the poor and that is why he chose promotion of social entrepreneurship as his field of action. His father Karam Veer Singh works as an Administrative Officer at the Income Tax department.
