Rugby coach Rahul Das named Personality of Year in Australia

NRINTERrdasRahul Das who was born in Auckland and is of Fijian Indian descent, was honoured at the Dunedin Club Rugby Awards and named Personality of the Year for guiding his team to its first title in the last five years.

Das played rugby at school and at a social club when he was 18, but he gave up playing a few years later after some injuries. He stayed involved in the sport and got his start with the university women’s team.

Now 30, Das stayed involved in the sport through coaching, and finds time during his busy schedule as a fourth year medical student, to coach rugby which he really enjoys.
