School Principal beats 7-year-old to death for unpaid fees

Angry that a child's parents delayed paying the school fees, the principal of DSR Public School in Bareilly beat little Mohammad Aaraj severely. The boy was then rushed to hospital by the principal and school manager, where doctors reported the child was dead. The school authorities then dumped his body on the highway. After the news of the boy's death spread, family members and local people went on a rampage. They blocked the highway in protest, beat up school staff and damaged property on the school premises. Police intervened to restore order and a case was filed and the body sent for a post mortem examination. The Union minister for women and child welfare and Pilibhit MP Maneka Gandhi said the school principal should be immediately arrested and the administration should take action against such schools that are insensitive to children. The dead boy's father Nasim Ahmad said the principal Saraswat banged the boy's head against the wall. The boy's elder sister and brother attend the same school. Police authorities confirmed they have lodged a case of culpable homicide against the principal and manager. Investigations are underway and if they are found guilty action will be taken against them.
