Curdling more controversy Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said in an article he wrote in the party’s mouthpiece Saamana, that ‘revoking voting rights of Muslims will ensure the end of vote bank politics. The article also said ‘Balasabeb had proposed that Muslims’ voting rights be revoked, a viewpoint he agreed with’.
Raut also attacked All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi by calling his party a threat to the nation.
The Shiv Sena leader defended his article saying there is an attempt to exploit the Muslim community for votes and earlier the Imam of Jama Masjid had assumed the right to guide Muslim votes.
Meanwhile a complaint has been filed against Raut with the national commission of minorities.
