Singapore NRI accomplice of match fixer jailed for 34 months

npvrdrz3Raja Morgasn Chelliah, 36, who was an accomplice of notorious football match-fixer Wilson Raj, has been jailed for 34 months for passport fraud and harbouring a criminal.

Chelliah admitted to providing false information to the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority to procure a Singapore biometric passport bearing Raj’s photo but issued under the name of Subramaniam Sellapah another accomplice.

Chelliah also pleaded guilty to selling the fraudulent passport to a middle man and for harbouring Raj by providing him with that passport and another one in the name of Raja Morgan. He said he was not aware of Raj’s notoriety.
