Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was again detained by the US immigration department for questioning, this time at Los Angeles airport on Thursday. He was earlier detained in 2012 at the New York airport for some hours.
Other famous Indian personalities who have also faced racism at US airports in the past include actor Irfan Khan; APJ Abdul Khan, India’s late one time President; Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh; and Malayalam actor Mammootty.
This time Shah Rukh said he was considerably calmer than the other times particularly when America’s envoy to India tweeted an apology later. This time the star age 50 was detained at the Los Angeles airport as a man with the same name is on a US no-fly list of 80,000 people.
He added, he understands and respects security given the way the world is, but to be detained at US immigration every damn time really sucks. He sportingly said the brighter side is while waiting he caught some really nice Pokemon.
