Sun TV executive arrested for sexual harassment

Police in Chennai arrested Tamil Nadu based Sun TV Network's chief operating officer C Praveen after a former employee who was a programme producer at Surya TV accused him of sexually harassing her while they worked together. Surya TV is a part of the Sun TV Network owned by media tycoon Kalanithi Maran. His brother Dayanidhi Maran is a member of the DMK and a former union telecom minister. The brothers who are being investigated over money-laundering allegations linked to the 2G spectrum allocation scam also run the cash-strapped SpiceJet airline. C Praveen has been remanded to judicial custody for 15 days. This is the second harassment charge against an executive of the organisation after a senior news editor was arrested on a complaint by a female anchor last year.
