Delhi's BJP unit exposed. Media revealed that an alleged Swachh Bharat cleaning drive was in fact just a photo-op, after photographs showed garbage being dumped on a Delhi pavement a short while before the 'cleaning drive' led by party state unit chief Satish Upadhyay began. To make matters worse, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal referred to the pictures in an interview with NDTV, saying Upadhyay first had the streets littered, then cleaned, in an act that made the BJP in Delhi commit fraud on the PM's Swachh Bharat campaign. Upadhyay of course denied any knowledge of the garbage dumping and said he and his colleagues went there at the invitation of the Islamic Centre. The Swachh Bharat cleaning drive was launched by PM Narendra Modi this year with the aim to ensure proper sanitation in urban and rural India. As part of the campaign various celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Shashi Tharoor, Omar Abdullah and Anil Ambani hit the streets with brooms to clean-up their localities.
