Three young men, Yakub, Iqbal and Afzal, aged between 20 and 22, had been driving to Agra to see the Taj Mahal on Republic Day. During a roadside stop they saw a train approaching and decided to take 'selfies' with the train in the background. Police at the station in Mathura said the men accidentally jumped into the path of another train travelling in the opposite direction as they were posing on one track taking 'selfies' and did not realise they were directly in the path of a train coming on the other track in the other direction. A fourth friend, Aneesh, who narrowly escaped said they had planned to post the pictures on the Internet. The incident is the latest in a series of fatal accidents in which the victims died as they took daring selfie photographs on their smart phones.
