Two booked for raping Canadian NRI woman in Punjab

Kala, 25, a resident of Barnala, and Karnail Kaur a resident of Kharar and native of Moga, have been booked for raping an NRI women at Kharar in SAS Nagar. According to the complaint, the victim went to India from Canada to undergo psychological counselling at Chandigarh. She was staying at a friend's home in Patiala. Since she had an appointment with a psychiatrist in Chandigarh on October 29 she decided to stay at Karnail Kaur's place on October 28. On the same night Kaur allowed Kala into her room and Kala sexually assaulted her. After the incident she returned to Patiala and stayed at another friend's place. She discussed the issue with her friend, after which she lodged a police complaint. Police registered an FIR against Kala and Kaur and said the accused were on the run. Police are investigating the case and efforts to nab the accused are underway.
