UK NRI dies after fall from wall in Birmingham

Jeevan Singh Dhanda, 18, was trying to climb a wall to re-enter a nightclub, when he fell 30 feet onto rail tracks at the New Street Station. He lay injured on the rail track for three hours before he was hit by a train leaving the station. He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital but died six days after the tragic accident. Hitesh Shirajlal, 31 from West Bromwich, was with Jeevan on the night of his death and fell from the same wall and also died a day after he was discharged from the same hospital. British Transport Police showed Jeevan's heartbroken family CCTV footage of Jeevan leaving the nightclub. The footage also showed the moment when Jeevan used a wheelie bin to climb the bridge wall and fell on to the tracks. Detectives said the reason Jeevan was trying to enter through a rear door is because he had been asked to leave because he was sick. He had been drinking at a friends house before going to Birmingham. Jeevan a student at Queen Mary's Grammar School in Walsall, died just weeks before he was to start an economics degree course at the University of Leeds.
