UK NRI Keith Vaz named 'Labour MP of the Year'

Keith Vaz has been named 'Labour MP of the Year 2014' for his work for the under-represented, deprived, and minority sections of the community in his constituency of Leicester East. Speaker John Bercow announced the Patchwork Foundation MPs of the Year 2014 at the Speakers House, and Ed Miliband, Leader of the Labour Party offered his congratulations to Vaz on receiving his award. Miliband lauded Vaz for his hard work and the difference he makes to his city as well as on the national stage and said Vaz has been a political pioneer for over 32 years and championed the diversity that makes Britain great. The MP of the Year Awards highlight the work MPs are doing to better understand their diverse communities, so the whole of society benefits.
