US NRI marine killed in Britain jet crash

INTERtSareenMajor Taj Sareen, 34, a US marine was flying his F/A Hornet when it crashed near the Lakenheath Royal Air Force base in Britain.

He was a pilot with the Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 232 and was flying the aircraft back to Miramar Marine Corps Air Station in the US. The other pilots from the squadron have returned to the US.

Sarine was commissioned in the Marine Corps in 2005. and in 2010 he was deployed to Afghanistan. He was an instructor with the Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 101.

He graduated from the University of San Francisco in 2004.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
