Ram Pothula, founder and CEO of US based Dragonfly Data Factory, announced the launch of the world's first 'software defined cloud enabled' data facility in Hyderabad that will give customers freedom to combine their choice of tools from industry-leading providers to mine, manage and monetize their data. The self funded company that has a presence in three locations in the US, also plans to set up a data facility in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, shortly. It also plans to raise $25 million to $30 million through Series-A by next year, to accelerate the company's growth. Dragonfly has drawn up aggressive plans for hiring and the headcount that now stands at 64 at all locations, will, by the end of 2015, rise to 364, and to 2700 by end 2016. Pothula said the majority of data scientists will be hired for Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, locations that will serve as the main development centres.
